Diamond Harbor Police District came into existence after the trifurcation of South 24 Pgs. on 10.03.2017, which comprises of fifteen (15) Police Stations [including 01(one) Cyber Crime PS, 01 (one) Women PS] covering an area of 1,071.74 Sq. Km. It shares its border with Kolkata Police on the Northside, Baruipur PD on the East, Sundarban PD on the South and East Midnapore and Howrah Rural PD on the West. Thirteen (13) jurisdictional Police Stations fall under two (02) Sub-Divisions namely Alipore Sub-Division and Diamond Harbour Sub-Division, which farther consist of ten (10) Blocks. River Hooghly flows through the western side of this Police District nudging nine (09) Police Stations and demarcating a border with East Midnapore and Howrah Rural PD.
